The Portal and the end of #dungeon23!

Has it been a year already?

The Portal is the newest and final area of Langwick that you can discover. Following the 8-page A5 booklet format from earlier months, it is packed with details to allow you to jump straight into exploring this mysterious part of the landscape:

• A description of the Portal and its surroundings, up on the moorland.
• Secret things - what is it? Who made it? Where does it go?
• Encounters, changing by season.
• Tables to generate spawn, creatures altered by the magical wind blowing from the Portal.
• Rumours - the villagers avoid the area around the Portal, but they have views. They will happily tell you, if you ask.
• An adventure - shepherds have seen lights in the sky in the direction of the Portal, so someone needs to investigate.
• The return of a people long absent from the area - will they stay?

The Portal is largely system independent, the statistics are provided for Treasured Possessions, a spirited game of possession that is currently being play tested.

So what next?...

Time to update. For one thing, the rules for Treasured Possessions have been developing over the year as well, so I need to update the earlier locations to the current rules. Also, the twelve pamphlets worked well for a monthly timetable, but they're not a very good use of paper as each has two identical pages at the start. I'm going to reconfigure them - I currently have them all in a single document that makes for a 90+ page book, but I'm thinking about making three booklets, one for the locations, one for the adventures and one with details of the village, villagers and the short articles discussing different topics like Icthyans, Goblins or how magic works here. A menagerie of all the creatures too, perhaps, so they're all in one place.
